Eva Von Schweinitz

Eva Von Schweinitz splits her time between Germany and New York. She is a graduated screenwriter, holding a B.A. from 'IFS - INTERNATIONAL FILM SCHOOL COLOGNE'. Several of her screenplays were realized as short films, featured at film festivals, some of them bought and broadcasted by the TV-stations ARTE and BR. Her short documentary “EARLY HOURS” was nominated for the German short film award.

Her interest in storytelling has taken on form in many different disciplines. She conceived and directed “AUTOKINO”, a road-movie on stage, created in close collaboration with the ensemble. The show has toured festivals in France, Belgium, Berlin and is going to be performed in Luxembourg in fall 2010.

She co-founded and co-directs the theater collective "PULK FIKTION" in Germany, a group of young professionals in theater and film with an interdisciplinary approach, mainly – but not exclusively – interested in making theater for children and youth. She was the dramaturg and sound designer for the company’s most recent production "NOT EFRAIM'S DAUGHTERS".

In New York, Eva created the projections for "THE SOUND AND THE FURY (APRIL SEVENTH, 1928)" by "ELEVATOR REPAIR SERVICE" and went on tour with them internationally. Other collaborations include “STREET PICTURES” (video design), "COLLAPSABLE GIRAFFE" (performance / production assistant), "UNICORNICOPIA" (videographer) and "SUPERHERO CLUBHOUSE" (sound design).

She edited "THE FALCON PROJECT", a short documentary about a dance project by ELLIS WOODS, and “BACK FROM IRAQ”, a DVD-Special for ILYA CHAIKEN’S feature film “LIBERTY KID”. Further, she edited an audio-piece for MARINA ABROMOVIC`S recent retrospective “THE ARTIST IS PRESENT” at MoMA. Her next project as an editor is “FLYFISHING IN AMERICA”, a feature film project in progress by LISA MONCURE.
